This design by Animal Fayre is taken from an illustration of the tale of Bahram Gur, the Hunter King. He has taken his slave girl out hunting. To prove his love, she challenges him to a contest, he must pin the gazelle’s leg to its nose. Azadeh claims such a skill to demonic and so Barhram in a fury has her crushed to death under a camel’s hooves. Worked in Victorian cross-stitch on 10hpi canvas, the finished piece will measure 18″x18″, 46x46cm.
