The rose chafer Beetle is widespread in the UK and most common in the south, albeit scarce. It can be found between May and October in woodland and grassland, most often seen feeding on flowers, particularly roses. The adults are iridescent emerald green and purple-bronze in colour, and covered in fine hairs. They are large beetles, measuring around 1.7 to 2 cm in length, and have a V-shape on the back, where the wing cases meet.
